Ravi Engineering and Land Surveying P.C. is currently looking for Construction inspectors and Office Engineers for the upcoming season on a variety of Road and Bridge projects for NYSDOT Region 4 in Rochester. Responsibilities include performing on-site inspection of various heavy highway and/or bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects. All positions require a combination of both office and field duties.

 

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Valid NICET Certification or equivalent Education/Experience
• Possess attention to detail
• Read, understand and properly document collected data
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• NICET III/IV - minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in inspection of heavy highway and bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects. Prior Locally Administered, NYSDOT and/or NYS Thruway experience required. NYSDOT retirees are encouraged to apply.
• NICET II - minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in inspection of heavy highway and bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects. All candidates should have experience working with NYSDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials and NYSDOT Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK). Candidates should also have good oral and written communication skills.

 

DESIRED (NON-REQUIRED) CERTIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Degree in Civil Engineering Technology Studies or similar field of study
• ACI - American Concrete Institute
• NETTCP – Soils and Aggregate Inspector
• ICC - International Code Council
• NICET- National Institution for Certification in Engineering Technologies.
• NYSDOT Certified in HMA and PCC
• NACE – National Association of Corrosion Engineers

 

COMPENSATION:

• This is for the 2025 Construction season and is full time employment with all company benefits
• Hourly Rates Range from $35-$50/hr contingent on State Certification Level/Experience
